Biology

Now normally i think i have pretty good temper control, even toward people who really don't know what there talking about but I guess i was wrong. i was sitting in my practical for cell bio, genetics and evolution and we were meant to be having a discussion about rights, in the scenario a young girl was trying to find out her risk of developing breast cancer and the only way she could do that was to have family member who already had to to have the test first so the doctors could compare the two, and in this scenario the woman's aunt refused to have the test but the hospital had some DNA on file that they could test, we were asked if it was right to use the aunt's DNA without her consent so the young woman could find out her risk of developing breast cancer. so that was all well and good and we were broken into table groups to discuss it and one girl at my table said the aunt had no right to that DNA because it wasn't hers any more, no I'm no genius so i tried to not argue because i was sure she must have had another point i wasn't getting. after another further five minutes of her arguing that point i had to say something, to which i got the reply once it leave your body it's no longer your DNA, strange some how i guess it just mutates and become some body's else's... funny i never knew that huh
